2023 African Games: Nigeria and Cameroon rekindle women’s football rivalry

After the senior men’s national team 2-0 win over Cameroon in the Round of 16 of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), the women will settle scores in the group stage of the 2023 African Games.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) conducted the draw in Abidjan on Thursday.

South African women’s football legend, Amanda Dhlamini who is at AFCON 2023 as a commentator was the draw assistant.

Nigeria will face Cameroon, Senegal, and Morocco in Group B.

In Group B, host, Ghana will face Tanzania, Uganda, and Ethiopia.

The women’s football category of the African Games is for U-20 team for all participants.

Nigeria won gold at the last edition.

The 2023 African Games will take place from March 8 to 21, 2024, in Ghana.
