Nigeria senior women’s national team defender, Ashleigh Plumptre was the heroine as she scored three goals for her Saudi side, Al-Ittihad during a 3-0 win over her national teammate, Tochukwu Oluehi on Saturday.
The former Leicester City defender opened the scoring in the league opener at the half-hour mark.
She doubled the lead in the 61st minute after a set piece.
Five minutes later, she completed her hat-trick with a strike inside the box.
The game announced Plumptre’s arrival in the Saudi Arabian women’s football league.
Three Nigerian players are in the league as the women’s league continues to soar in the Asian country.
They include Rita Chikwelu, Tochukwu Oluehi, and Ashleigh Plumptre.
More players from Nigeria and other parts of Europe are expected to move to the Asian country with speculations of moves for French captain, Wendie Renard.
Brazilian icon, Marta is also linked with a move away from the United States of America (USA).
