Mireille Tchengang leaves Paris for a new challenge

Cameroon international defender Mireille Tchengang has joined FC Roubaix Wervicq on a one-year deal from Paris FC.

The club announced the deal and unveiled the former PSG lady on Friday after agreeing personal terms for a move to the club in the French third tier championship.

The 20-year-old Cameroon international joined Paris FC last season but things didn’t work well in terms of game time, prompting her entourage to push for the switch to a new club.

Tchengang is in desperate need of regular football to develop her game which has slowed down since her breakthrough season two years ago at PSG which even earned her a call up to Cameroon’s senior national team during their home and away Olympics qualifiers tie against Zambia in March 2021.

The full-back is expected to quickly adapt to live at her new club, having played in France all her life.

The new season gets underway later this month. Tchengang and her mates are expected to be part of the group of clubs pushing to earn promotion to the second tier of women’s football in France.

Tchengang is part of tenths of Cameroon footballers plying their trade in France.
