In a tightly contested game, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon bravely defeats the Brave Warriors of Namibia with a thrilling 1-0 goal win from Vincent Aboubakar, who scored in the 65 minute.
The first half saw both teams vying to break the deadlock at the Roumde Adjia Stadium in Garoua, Where Peter Shalulile from Namibia made an attempt to score just four minutes into the match. On the other end, Edward Maova served as a formidable barrier to Carlos Baleba’s fiercely struck effort in the sixth minute.
As the intensity grew, Shalulile made another attempt, but Andre Onana ensured the game remained goalless until halftime.
In the 58th minute, the Indomitable Lions surged forward, with Jackson Tchatchoua coming close to scoring with a shot that flew wide of the post. Bryan Mbeumo on one end had an opportunity for Cameroon, but Namibia’s goalkeeper was equal to the task. However, he was eventually beaten five minutes later when the dark invader, Vincent Aboubakar, made a remarkable rebound to secure the victory for Cameroon.
Cameroon currently tops Group J, with Kenya in second place, followed by Namibia and lastly Zimbabwe. Their next game will be against Zimbabwe.
So far, Marc Brys has proven to be undefeated, with two wins, one draw, six goals scored, and two conceded in just three games.
Vincent Aboubakar is currently the second-highest goal scorer in the history of Cameroon football, with 44 goals. He is just 12 goals away from Samuel Eto’o, who holds the record with 56 goals.
