2024/25 WAFA League gets kick-off date with 22 teams

The 2024/2025 edition of the Wafa League is set to commence as 22 teams register for the Season.

The League registration window closed on Wednesday 7th of May, 2025.

Wafa League is the largest Grassroots women’s football League in Nigeria and has produced hundreds of Talented female players for the Nigeria National Teams, the Professional Women’s Football League teams in Nigeria, and all around the globe. The League organizers are still in the business of setting the platform for more female talents through the Wafa League.

The League Draws and Seminar will be held on 24th May 2025, while the League is set to kick off on Saturday, 31st of May 2025, across the country.

The 22 Teams will be zoned, and each zone is expected to produce the two Top Teams that go into the final stage of the League Season, where the Champion will emerge.

The 22 teams for the League Season are:

10. EDUFOOT STARLET FA

11. DYNAMITE FA

12. MJV FA

13. GHETTO TIGERS LADIES

14. WAZBAK INT’L FA

15. GREAT STARS AMAZONS

16. FUTURE STARS 99

17. IJAMIDO QUEENS

18. HEROES QUEENS

19. FC PHOENIX QUEENS

20. UNITED SQUAD ANGELS

21. CLEVER STARS QUEENS

22. CHOSEN GENERATIONS ANGELS

The 2023/2024 edition was won by the CATS Ladies from Surulere Lagos.

Wafa League is organized by the Female Football Academies Proprietors (FEFAP), presided over by Jaiyeola Damilare, Adeboye Soneye as Head of Competition, Olajide Royal as the Technical Director, and Bagbe Micheal as the League COO.
