2023 COSAFA Beach Soccer Championship: Saudi Arabia win big on day two

Action at the 2023 COSAFA (Southern Africa) Beach Soccer Championship took another twist on Matchday two on Monday.

All four teams that won their games on Sunday ended up in the losing run of games.

Mozambique which lost their opener to Morocco bounced back with a 5-4 victory over Tanzania with Antonio Jose Maimane emerging as the player of the match.

Host, South Africa also picked their first win of the tournament after a 3-2 victory over the host of the next FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, Seychelles as Siyabonga Mkhize won the player of the match prize.

Morocco which had a 5-2 win over Mozambique on Sunday lost 3-2 to Angola.

The last game saw the Asian side, Saudi Arabia thrashed Malawi 5-1.

The last group games will determine the two teams that will make it to the semi-final from the two groups.

Record Africa champions, Senegal won the last edition of the tournament.
