Hussein El Shahat of Al Ahly became the third player to score at three edition of the FIFA Club World Cup following his goal in Wednesday’s opening game.

The Egyptian giants defeated the New Zealand outfit Auckland City by 3 goals to 0.

During this one-sided match in Rabat , Hussein El Shahat scores and wrote his name in the annals of the competition’s history by equaling a record of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Indeed, during the inaugural meeting between Al Ahly Sporting Club and Auckland City a record of the competition was equaled.

Shehat scored Al Ahly’s second first goal to equal Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo record of scoring in three different editions of the tournament.

This goal allowed him to join an elite circle of players who have scored during three different editions of the Club World Cup.

Already a scorer during the 2018 and 2020 edition, the Egyptian scored during the opening match of the 2022 edition.

After having equaled this record, Hussein El Shahat will be keen to follow up with Al Ahly on Saturday against the Americans of Seattle Sounders FC during the quarter-finals.

As a reminder, Al Ahly has won the bronze medal three times and aims to do better this year. To achieve this goal, they will be able to count on the services of their star striker Shahat.
