Former Cameroon international Guy Roland Ndy Assembé has completed his coaching badges and picked up certification as a Goalkeeper trainer with the accreditation of the French Football Federation (FFF).
The 38-year-old who retired in 2022 after a 30-year football career was a part of the badge of graduates who secured their certificates last month after completing a year-long FFF training that spanned three semesters.
This one time AS Nancy shot stopper spent ten years in the youth teams of FC Nantes received a level 2 certification which clears him for jobs at top-flight clubs and in a senior national team at all FIFA and CAF competitions.
The former shot stopper who amassed a lot of experience in his playing days goes into the new territory of coaching with loads of knowledge he is expected to put on the line for the good of those he is called to train.
This certification adds him to a shortlist of Cameroonians who have obtained the goalie trainer’s coaching badges.
Ndy won 16 caps for Cameroon between 2010-2016, but has spent the best part of his life in France and will likely continue development as a coach in the nation till an opportunity surfaces elsewhere.
The former Guingamp keeper who formed part of Cameroon’s squad at AFCON 2010 and 2015 plus the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and last played for Cameroon in February 2016 against South Africa in Limbe opens dare into a different territory.
In the meantime, he is in France, serving as goalkeeper trainer for Stade lavallois and engages with some part time football activities while waiting for bigger moment.
