The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon have received a timely boost ahead of their FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifying playoff semifinal against DR Congo, with André-Frank Zambo Anguissa, Carlos Baleba, Arthur Avom, and Patrick Soko all joining the squad in time in Rabat.

Their arrivals take the number of available players to 25 out of the 28 called up by head coach Marc Brys, just two days before the decisive encounter scheduled for Thursday, 13 November, at 8PM local time at the Stade El-Barid in Morocco’s capital.

Zambo Anguissa’s return adds both experience and momentum to the group. The Napoli midfielder, recently named Serie A Player of the Month for October, brings authority and tactical maturity to the Lions’ midfield. His presence, alongside Brighton’s Carlos Baleba and FC Lorient’s Arthur Avom, gives Cameroon a dynamic and balanced core capable of dictating play against any opposition.

Patrick Soko’s inclusion further energises the attacking options, joining Bryan Mbeumo, Vincent Aboubakar, and rising star Karl Etta Eyong, whose sharp form continues to catch attention in camp.

The team will hold its second training session this evening at 6PM at their base in Rabat, as Brys and his technical staff fine-tune tactical details ahead of Thursday’s clash. The focus remains on maintaining intensity, refining attacking transitions, and strengthening defensive coordination.

For Marc Brys, this semifinal is not only a test of preparation but also of unity. The Belgian coach is keen to see his side translate the positive atmosphere in camp into performance when they face Sébastien Desabre’s well-organised DR Congo side.

With most of the squad now assembled and spirits high, Cameroon’s preparations are entering their decisive phase — all geared toward taking one step closer to a return to the global stage.

Cameroon face DR Congo on Thursday, 13 November 2025, at 8PM local time at Stade El-Barid in Rabat — a crucial hurdle on the road to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
