Authentic FC of Douala and Louves Minproff of Yaounde, are set to go head to head in the final of the 2023 Cameroon women’s cup.
This follows semi-final games played on Friday March 03, at the Ngoa Ekelle stadium in Yaounde.
Authentic FC of Douala edged Guiness Super League side Ngadeu FF 1-0, to seal their spot for their maiden finale.
Authentic FC needed a late goal from Solange Larkingam with 11 minutes of regulation time left to play (79 minute), to breakdown a stubborn Ngadeu FF side. Tim Shalom and her Authentic FC teammates came into the game in high spirits, after brushing away littoral side AJSAC FC 7-1 in the quarter-final. It was also a boast for them to have goalkeeper Liliane Choumba back between the sticks, after she had missed the previous games via suspension.
Louves Minproff sees off AS Fortuna
In the second game played at the Ngoa Ekelle stadium on Friday, Louves Minproff confirmed their supremacy over AS Fortuna.
A First half goal from Ghislaine Larissa Nkou, had put Louves Minproff in front before the break. Informed Forward Pauline Ndong Priso, who has scored four goals in the Guinness Super League this season, netted Louves second goal of the game at the 78 minute.
Though Fortuna pulled one back deep in added time through Claudia Foe Ndong, or was not enough to secure them a place in the final.
Authentic FC and Louves Minproff will therefore Contest in the final schedule for Tuesday March 07, at the Ngoa Ekelle stadium as from 3pm.
Louves Minproff has won the Women’s cup finals three times (2011, 2012, and 2019), and has lost one final to AS Green City in 2016.
They will be in the haunt for their fourth women’s top trophy, whole Authentic FC of Douala will be in their first final.
