Cameroon Elite One championship side, PWD of Bamenda have reached an agreement and signed Nyame Rodrique on a two-year contract from West regional league franchise, Stade Bandjoun.

The Stade Bandjoun skipper held talks with the Abakwa Boys for almost two weeks before deciding to join the club over other interested parties.

Nyame,26, had a brilliant 2022/23 season as he skippered Stade Bandjoun throughout a brilliant campaign which saw them reach the semi-final of the regional championship and the Cup of Cameroon.

The switch to PWD reunites him with his former Victoria United FC team mate Siganou Nkengne Amede with whom he spent two seasons at Victoria United before splitting to pick up Elite 1 commitments at Leopards of Douala and OFTA of Kribi respectively.

Nyame, who scored 15 goals in all competitions last season and was voted player of the month of March 2023 will bring a lot in the attacking third of coach Roger Constantine Bep’s team.

The playmaker in Victoria United FC’s running to the 2017 Cup of Cameroon semi-final has began training with the rest of his colleagues.

The U-23 Lions attacking midfielder back in 2019 is expected to be available for PWD in the 2023 Cup of Cameroon final against Fovu of Baham on a date to be decided.
