The Tanzanian U-20 women’s national team thrashed their counterparts from Djibouti 7-0 in the return leg of the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.
The first leg of the second-round clash ended 5-0 in favour of Tanzania.
The East Africans scored six goals in the first half of the return leg away from home.
Jamila Rajabu and Winfrida Gerald scored two goals.
Diana Mnali, Zainabu Mohamed, and Yasinta Mitoga scored a goal each.
With the win, Tanzania will next face Nigeria in a two-legged third round after completing a 12-0 win on aggregate over Djibouti.
Nigeria is yet to feature in the qualifying series after their second-round opponent, Mauritius withdrew from the Qualifiers.
Meanwhile, Burundi will play Zambia or the Democratic Republic of Congo in the third round after edging out South Africa on away goal rule.
The return leg of the second-round clash ended in a 2-2 draw in South Africa.
