Sensational Cameroonian forward, Tabe Brenda Ebika has completed a switch from Lekie Filles FC to Irish top-flight championship outfit, Athlone Town FC on a one-year-contract, the purchasing club announced.

The club took to social media late last week to announce they had secured the services of the 20-year-old Cameroon international from the 2023 Cameroonian champions.

“Athlone Town are delighted to welcome three new players to our SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division team!,” the club announced, before briefly profiling Tabe.

“Brenda Ebika Tabe, a striker, is from Cameroon where she was playing for Lekie FC. She has also represented her Country and helped them to a second place finish in the 2023 Sud Ladies Cup soring against France and Panama along the way.”

Brenda, winner three Cameroon women’s top-flight championship titles and three times top scorer of the national championship settled for Athlone Town FC despite having a number of offers at the end of her two successful seasons at Lekie Filles where she won back-to-back Cup of Cameroon and the 2023 domestic title.

The Awa Filles all-time top scorer and best scorer of the national championship for the past four seasons has familiarize herself with her new club colleagues in the Irish top-flight championship.

Her departure is a huge blow for Lekie Filles FC as they prepare for the 2023 Union of Central African Football Federation (UNIFFAC) zonal playoffs in Kinshasa, DR Congo.

Tabe was one of the substitute last weekend for her new club as they lost 1-2 against Peamount United FC in Round 14 of the Irish championship.

The former Cameroon women’s U-20 national team captain who began her career at Dream Soccer Academy in Mamfe will be expected to hit the height that made her win multiple individual and collective awards in Cameroon, including been named Best Young Player of the Guinness Super League in 2022 after helping Awa Filles win their most-recent domestic championship crown.
