Southwest regional League gets kickstart date

The start of the 2025/2026 South West Regional league is just around the corner with 23 teams expected to battle for the lone slot to represent the region at the National interpools.

The stage which is now set for the new season has seen the 23 teams paired against each other and splitted into four groups of six each with group C as the only exception housing five teams.
This carefully spells out the plans of action for the upcoming season as they prepare to embark on another marathon period of activities giving the late start.

Group A accommodates six teams in Fako United of Buea, Talented sport academy of the same city, Best star academy of Limbe, Buea United FC, Kamdjo Sport Academy of Buea and

Rising star Football club of Buea.
Elect sport FC of Limbe, Cinyodev FA of Buea, AlJazeera SA of Muyuka, Dream soccer Academy, Attess FA of Buea and Mount Cameroon FC of the same city occupies group B.

Group C which with just five teams, will see, last year quarterfinalist Buea city FC go against Options Sport academy of limbe, destiny restoration of Limbe, Manyu FC and summer sport football club of Buea

While Group D houses teams from
Meme division; Legend FC of Kumba, Kumba Lakers, Future dream FC of Kumba, Waspito FC Manyu United FC and Epie Football club of Tombel.

The first two teams from each pool shall qualify for the mini interpools where the winner will represent the region at the national interpools for a chance to play elite two football.

It is worth noting that the past three winners of the southwest regional league which is expected to kickoff on the 24 of March, have gone on to secure promotion into the secondtier championship.

In 2022, Victoria United won the mini interpools and went on to become vice champions at the national interpools behind Aigle Royal of Mungo to secure qualification to Elite two and eventually gained promotion to the top tier championship the following season and emerged champion in their debut season.

In 2023, ISOHSA of Limbe scaled through the mini interpools, won the national Interpools to secure a spot in the elite two championship and last year, Kumba city FC conquered the mini interpools and then the national Interpools to bring back home another Elite ticket.
