Former PWD, Panthere Sportive of Nde and Bafmeng United FA head trainer, Soh Magloire Tchejacjouo Simplis has been appointed intermediate lions of Cameroon head coach in replacement of Alioum Seidou who failed to guide Cameroon beyond the group stage of the 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN) last year in Algeria.
Coach Simplis, a CAF license A holder was appointed Wednesdays July 4, 2024 by a decision of the emergency committee of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT).
The 2023 National Youth championship champion with the Northwest Region will have to improve in the job done by coach Alioum Saidou who is now head coach of the U-17 national team.
Soh, previously of YOSA, Hilltop Stickers and Rainbows FC will take over an intermediate lions team that has failed to shine in recent competitions and he is expected to build a team that can bring back the hay days of the intermediate lions and surpass the best result of a fourth-place finish at CHAN 2020 in the 2020 competition held three years ago on home soil.
Coach Soh Simplis Magloire is grounded about local football. In 2022 while serving as deputy to Roger Constantine Bep, he helped PWD of Bamenda reach their second cup of Cameroon final in three years and ended the competition with a runners-up medal after losing the final to Fovu of Baham. He later won the 2023 North West Regional Football League with Bafmeng United and was named Best coach in the region for his exploits that term.
As if that’s not enough, coach Soh proceeded to qualify Bafmeng United to the Elite Two championship.
He later joined Panthere of Nde in the Elite Two championship and played the pivotal role in their return to the top tier of Cameroon’s football.
Prior to his appointment as head coach of the intermediate lions of Cameroon, coach Soh Simplis is North West delegate to the FECAFOOT General Assembly and Regional Technical Director for the North West.
He will be assisted by Koung Anicet of Fauve Azur Elite while Ndoe Mbarga was appointed Goalkeeper coach.
