Che Malone Fondoh Junior made his home debut for Simba SC in their 2-0 win in the 2023 club annual celebration match against Zambia’s Power Dynamos FC on Sunday.
A bulk of the over 80K Simba SC supporters in attendance at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium have been left impressed by Malone’s debut for the club.
Despite having a very short pre-season, the NguvuMoja made the best possible start to the pre-season clash as their fans celebrate the 2023 Simba SC day.
Newbies Leandre Willy Esombe Onana and Fabrice Ngoma scored in either half as coach Robertino’s team demonstrated their class and readiness for the new campaign.
It wasn’t just the win that was impressive from Simba – the performance was one of their best in recent months, as they dominated a Power Dynamos side who were Champions of the Zambian Premier League last season.
Onana got the scoring underway with a fine finish after just four minutes, with substitute Ngoma finishing off a brilliant team move to double the lead in the second segment.
One of the standout performers was centre-back Che, who was making his debut for the club following his 80 millions FCFA transfer from Cotonsport of Garoua.

With a number of players unavailable, Che and his defensive colleagues made for a solid partnership at the back, limiting Power Dynamos to just a single shot on target.
Supporters have been left impressed by Che and have raved about his performance in the aftermath.
Simba SC are building for four competitions in the coming season including the CAF Champions League which starts later this month.
Che,24, fondly known as “Walls of Jericho” will be crucial for the Lions throughout the 2023/24 season.
