Senegal’s Football Federation (FSF) has confirmed it appeared before the Confederation of African Football’s disciplinary jury following a complaint linked to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final in Morocco.

In an official statement issued in Dakar, the federation said it wished to inform “national and international public opinion that it appeared, on Tuesday 27 January 2026, before the Disciplinary Jury of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).”

The FSF said the case stems from reports submitted by match officials and a protest filed by the host nation after Senegal’s 1–0 victory in the final. According to the statement, “this procedure follows the reports of the match officials as well as the reservations submitted by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation at the end of the final of the AFCON Morocco 2025.”

Senegal were represented at the hearing by their secretary general and legal counsel. The federation said it “benefited from the legal assistance of Mr Seydou Diagne,” while head coach Pape Bouna Thiaw and players Ismaïla Sarr and Iliman Ndiaye were also called to testify. They “were duly heard and presented their means of defence,” the statement added.

CAF’s disciplinary body is now considering the case and is expected to deliver its verdict imminently. “The disciplinary body has taken the case under deliberation and will notify its decision within forty-eight (48) hours, a deadline set by the President of the Jury,” the FSF said.

The statement was signed off in Dakar on 27 January 2026 by the federation’s general secretariat, as uncertainty continues to surround the aftermath of a tightly contested final that crowned Senegal champions of Africa.
