The head coach of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon Rigobert Song Bahanak has revealed he is legally backed to be head coach of his country for the next 16 months.
Song made the revelation this Sunday at the conference hall of the Al Janoub Stadium while addressing the media in the traditional pre-match presser.
Song who replaced Antonio Conceicao in March this year helped his country qualify for am eighth FIFA World Cup tournament earlier this year but results have since dwindled as highlighted by the 1-0 defeat to Switzerland last Thursday.
That defeat extended Song’s team’s winless run to five games, prompting some sections of the media to cast doubt about the gaffer’s future.
However, Song has come out to state he has a running contract which he will honor.
“My staff and I have a two year contract and expect to honor it,” Song revealed.
The former Indomitable Lions of Cameroon defender and captain will set out in search of his third win in nine games as head coach on Monday against Serbia at the Al Janoub Stadium.
Song and his staff have the backing of president Samuel Eto’o Fils but need to confirm that with results to enhance their chances of seeing out their two-year contract.
