Referees in the Littoral region have reached a significant agreement following negotiations with the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) President Samuel Eto’o and some members of his executive on Wednesday.

A communique signed and released by the president of the referee association President Ngoon Mbeleck explains that President Samuel Eto’o and members of his executive in the region have committed to paying the outstanding salary arrears owed to referees. The total amount agreed upon is 10 million CFA francs from the 10.2 million cfa

The payment will be made in two installments: the first installment is scheduled for this Friday, June 21, and the second installment will follow on Monday, June 24, 2024.

The former referee now president encourages match officials to approach this situation with flexibility and objectivity.

The note also made mention of the fact that the Littoral Regional Football League has taken the commitment to prevent any further arrears of emoluments for match officials

By the third day of the return phase, all outstanding payments will be settled, ensuring that the championship and play-offs proceed smoothly.

This development is a positive sign for football in the Littoral region, especially considering the recent disruption caused by the payment delay.
