Cameroon second-choice goalkeeper Davis Epassy has expressed a strong zeal to continue as a key starter for the Indomitable lions in their next FIFA World Cup fixtures.

The declaration was made, after the 3-3 draw between Cameroon and Serbia, on Monday, November 29, 2022, in Qatar.

Davis Epassy had the following;

“I knew I will be starting last night. You can ask the coach, why he dropped Onana”, Davis Epassy told the media.

Regarding Onana’s reaction after knowing that he will not be starting the match against Serbia, Epassy disclosed that his teammate was very supportive.

“Andre gave me support and words of encouragement before the game. I feel confident to continue in the next game”, he said.

Davis was instrumental in the lions’ game, via a series of spectacular saves, that could have helped the Serbian side pick the day’s three points.

On the other hand, Heach Coach Rigobert Song articulated during the post-match press conference that Andre Onana is an indispensable player for Cameroon, indicating that he was ruled out of the game for disciplinary reasons.

The gaffer ended by saying, he’s glad for the great competition that has surfaced between Onana and Davies.
