The head coach of Cameroon’s national team, Cameroon national football team, David Pagou, has announced a 30-man squad made up exclusively of locally based players for a preparatory camp scheduled from 6 to 10 March 2026.

The short training programme, to be held in Yaoundé, forms part of preparations for the upcoming March international window, where Cameroon are expected to fine-tune their plans ahead of future competitive assignments.

Pagou’s list draws heavily from the MTN Elite One championship, with several clubs contributing multiple players. Gazelle FA de Garoua, Dynamo de Douala and PWD of Bamenda are among the most represented sides, underlining the coach’s intent to reward consistent domestic performances.

Four goalkeepers headline the defensive spine of the squad, while the outfield selections feature a blend of seasoned campaigners and emerging prospects eager to make their mark at senior international level.

The camp is widely viewed as an opportunity for home-based players to impress the technical bench and push for inclusion in future matchday squads, particularly at a time when competition for places remains intense.
One talking point surrounding the announcement is the absence of certain high-profile domestic performers, a decision that is likely to fuel discussion among supporters in the days ahead.

For Pagou, however, the focus remains firmly on assessing depth, building cohesion and identifying players capable of stepping up when called upon.
The five-day camp is expected to centre on tactical organisation, physical conditioning and internal assessment matches as the Indomitable Lions continue their rebuilding process.
