- Nathan Ngoumou suffered a right Achilles tendon injury during his club’s 1-1 draw against St Pauli
- This unfortunate incident occurred during his 86th minutes substitution
- However Ngoumou had already lost his spot with the return of Franck Hnororat
Borussia Mönchengladbach winger, Nathan Ngoumou is facing a potentially season-ending injury after suffering a torn Achilles tendon during a supplementary training session on Sunday.
The 25-year-old was brought on as a substitute in the 86th minute of the 1-1 draw against St. Pauli, but his brief appearance was cut short when he appeared to pick up the serious injury after the final whistle.
According to reports from Sky Sport, Ngoumou’s injury does not look promising, and he will likely undergo further assessment in the coming days to determine the extent of the damage.
If confirmed, a torn Achilles tendon would rule him out for the remainder of the season, dealing a significant blow to his club’s chances of success.
The injury occurred during a training session specifically designed for substitutes and reserve players after the match .
Ngoumou had already lost his spot in the starting lineup with the return of Franck Honorat from injury. Nevertheless, Mönchengladbach will need to scout elsewhere to find the firepower they need to achieve their goals.
