Former NQSA forward Robert Ndip Tambe, was on target on Sunday as his Chinese club JN Xinghou edged Shanghai Jiading 2-0 in match day 24 of the Chinese second tier championship.

Xinghou looked under par for much of the match but found the breakthrough when Qi exchanged passes with Fernando Karanga and finished from close range.

Tambe, who has been in scintillating form was at it again as he scored the opener then set up the second to ensure they take maximum points from the contest.

Tambe got his goal in the 56th minute after a neat one-two pass with Jinan Xingzhou.

Tambe’s goal seal the win as it finished 2-0 in favor of the visitors who recorded their tenth win in 24 appearances.

Tambe is the club’s top scorer this season with 11 goals in 19 appearances.

Xinghou currently occupies the sixth spot on the log with 30 points, 21 off leaders Jiuniu going into the final six games of the season.

Tambe’s form on the eve of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) could help the 2017 attract the attention of the national team staff again.
