David Tsama’s double helped Aigle Royal of Moungo strengthen its chances to push for promotion to the top-flight championship following a 2-0 win at the Mbouda Municipal stadium this Monday.

Coach Martin Nkabyo made five changes to the Bafmeng United FA line up including handing a debut for Herman Talla in goal in hope of better fortunes after two defeats in two previous outings.

The 2023 national interpools champions had to be patient to break down the more organized Bafmeng side.

Aigle Royal went ahead just five minutes before the break through Tsama’s excellent low corner finish and an energetic start to the second half saw him doubled his tally.

Although Bafmeng started the brighter of the two teams, Aigle finished strongest as they struck with its last attack of the game when Cisse Bello broke forward and dispatched a fantastic cross-field ball into Tsama, who cut in from the left to curl the ball sweetly from the inside of the box into the bottom corner of Herman Talla’s goal.

Aigle Royal settled into the game after their early goal, with Cisse having plenty of involvement on the right flank, as they managed to take the advantage to the break.

Tsama completed his double just after the break and Aigle protected the lead throughout the rest of the afternoon despite the efforts of the Bafmeng United FA side that got better in the second segment.

Despite the multiple changes in personnel, the game’s score remained unchanged till full-time, thus handing Aigle Royal a second win in three outings while Bafmeng United settles for their third lost.

The Nkongsamba outfit currently occupies the third spot on the log while Bafmeng United FA are last but one and pointless like Dragon of Yaounde.
