Matchday Two of the MTN Elite One championship delivered a mixed bag of tight contests, disciplinary drama and emphatic statements, as clubs across the country began to show their early-season intentions. While goals were scarce in some venues, others witnessed dominant performances that have already started shaping the early table.

At the Roumde Adjia Annex in Garoua, Cotonsport and Aigle Royal du Moungo played out a cautious 0–0 draw. Despite Cotonsport’s territorial control and experience, Aigle du Moungo stayed compact and disciplined, frustrating the hosts and earning a valuable away point in a match that lacked cutting edge in the final third.

Also in Garoua, but at the same venue later on, Gazelle FA continued their strong start to the season with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Colombe du Dja. Colombe struck first through Brice Sindjo in the 27th minute, but Gazelle responded with resilience. Marius Kalgon Kada levelled from the penalty spot in the 64th minute before Mael Fernandez sealed the comeback with a late goal in the 81st minute. The match was marred by indiscipline, with Bertrand Essiane of Colombe and François Mitterand Wanre of Gazelle both sent off, but Gazelle held firm to collect maximum points.

In Yaoundé, Canon Sportif suffered a narrow 0–1 home defeat to Fauve Azur, a result that underlined Fauve’s growing reputation as a difficult side to break down. Canon pushed for an equaliser but lacked efficiency, while Fauve defended intelligently to secure a precious away win.

One of the standout performances of the weekend came in Bamenda, where PWD Bamenda thrashed Stade Renard 4–1 at the Bamenda I Proximity Stadium. Ndonwie Fielding opened the scoring before Nsoh Ndeh Fabrice converted from the spot. Goals from Yaya Aluyu just before halftime and Junior Nguimbat after the break completed a dominant display. Stade Renard’s woes were compounded by the red card shown to Yanick Kamale, leaving them exposed against a ruthless PWD side that sent a clear warning to title contenders.

In Douala, Dynamo FC of coach Soh Simplice claimed a convincing 3–1 win over Victoria United at the Bepanda Annex Stadium. The turning point came early when Victoria United goalkeeper Nkomo was sent off after just 11 minutes for denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity. Dynamo capitalised fully, with goals from Vittel Feumi, Jules Armand Kooh and Luke Kenda, while Sterly Peto briefly gave Victoria hope before halftime. Dynamo’s composure and numerical advantage proved decisive.

Elsewhere, defensive solidity defined the remaining fixtures. AS Fortuna and Aigle Royal de la Menoua shared the spoils in a goalless draw, while Unisport de Bafang and Panthère du Nde also cancelled each other out in a tense 0–0 encounter, with few clear chances and strong defensive organisation on both sides.

As Matchday Two concludes, Gazelle FA emerge as early pace-setters, while PWD Bamenda and Dynamo Douala announce themselves with commanding wins. At the other end, clubs like Canon, Stade Renard and Colombe du Dja are already under pressure to respond quickly.

Looking ahead, Matchday Three begins on Wednesday, and the focus will shift to consistency. In-form sides will aim to build momentum, while those who stumbled will be desperate for redemption. With early discipline issues, tight scorelines and growing rivalries already evident, the MTN Elite One season is clearly settling into an intense and unpredictable.
