Harold Moukoudi helped AEK Athens clinched a thrilling 2-1 victory over OFI Crete in their latest Super League encounter on December 8, 2024
The match took an early twist when OFI Crete’s Thiago Thomas Nuss was shown a straight red card just 21 minutes in, leaving his side to battle with ten men for the remainder of the match.
Despite their numerical disadvantage, OFI Crete struck first in the 36th minute through Zisis Karachalios, who found the back of the net with a well-placed shot, catching the AEK defense off guard.
However, the visitors regrouped and responded just before the halftime whistle. Cameroon international Harold Moukoudi leveled the score in the 45+1 minute.
This is his third goal of the season in just nine appearances. He was substituted in the 73rd minute after a solid performance.
The match reached its climax in the dying moments when Anthony Martial delivered a late winner in the 87th minute, slotting home to secure all three points for AEK Athens.
This victory solidifies AEK’s position in second place on the league table with 27 points, just three behind leaders Olympiacos. The team will look to build on this momentum as they prepare to face Lamia on December 14 for matchday 15.
For OFI Crete, this defeat marked their sixth loss in 14 outings, leaving them languishing in 10th place with 16 points. The challenge ahead will be to regroup and find consistency as they navigate the remainder of the season.
