- The administration of Leopard sportive of Douala has suspended coach Alexandre Belibi over poor results.
- The suspension comes 48 hours after the team’s 2-4 loss to Dragon of Yaounde in match day six of the elite two championship
- Coach Belibi has been provincially replaced by Bikai Ngouem
Coach Alexandre Belibi has today, November 20, been suspended by the management of Leopard Sportif of Douala for poor results.
Hired at the start of the season to lead this age-old club to the first division for the first time in years, the trainer is yet to win a match in six outings.
Leopard has been in struggling form since the start of the elite two championship. In six games, the team has recorded five defeats, one draw, scoring three goals and conceding thirteen.
They are currently placed at the 7th position in group B with one point.
It is unclear how long this suspension will last, with his replacement announced in the person of Bikai Ngouem.
Leopard Sportive is one of the elite two teams to have better prepared for the 2023/2024 football season. They not only started training on time, but also recruited players from reputable clubs like Cotonsport de Garoua among others.
Their sloppy ride in the championship so far has been attributed to the internal conflict ongoing among club leaders, committee members and even fan groups.
The secretary general of the side, Edouard Penda, had revealed that many club partisans had been holding night meetings, praying for the downfall of the club in elite two.
One is uncertain as to when these parties will find a common ground for peace, with many hoping it will be soon so one of Cameroon’s oldest clubs can once again regain her glory.
