Reliable Cameroonian forward, Lambert Gueime Araina achieved the rare feat of a hat-trick in the Zambia Premier League on Sunday for Zanaco as they pulled a 3-3 away to Green Eagles in game week 14 of the country’s flagship championship.
Araina, who came into the game on the heel of a sensational overhead kick last weekend completed his hat-trick of goals within 34 second-half minutes, cancelling the lead.
Noted for his great abilities in front of goal, as scored his first of the game in the 53rd minute of the game to cancel the lead Mulenga had given the host as early as the 14th minute from the spot.
There was a quick reply for the equaliser as Shamende restored the advantage a minute later.
The game entered a frantic last 20 minutes, producing four goals in quick fire run which Green Eagles led twice but were pegged back. Araina got two of the goals to complete his hat-trick while Mulenga got the other for Green Eagles whose defending caused them two precious points.
Araina has now scored four goals in two games since his return from injury while ensuring Zanaco picks up four points from a possible six.
The Cameroon international has now scored eight goals since joining Zanaco last summer and has started looking like the Araina of Cotonsport of Garoua back in the days.
