Cameroonian forward Diederrick Joel Tagueu, is set to leave Portuguese side Maritimo, and engage with Saudi Arabia Division two side Al Hazm.
According to Portuguese outlet www.rtp.pt, the striker is already in Saudi Arabia to complete the deal, after saying goodbye to his Maritimo teammates.
It is understood that the 29_year_old will join Al-Hazm, on loan from Marítimo until the end of the season, with an option to making the transfer permanen.
Tagueu confirmed the move on Sunday, with a heartfelt message via his official Instagram page, to the Maritimo family.
“I honorably wore the Marítimo jersey and gave the best of myself so that Marítimo always had the best results. I experienced difficult moments and others that were happy and of great achievement. Today, I write to say goodbye to you, but I don’t say goodbye, I just say see you later”, Joel Tagueu wrote. He ended the publication with a “see you soon”, which means he can possibly return to his parent club at the end of the season.
The forward has spent close to five years with Maritimo, since he first arrived the club in 2018 on loan from Brazilian side Cruzeiro.
He has featured in 14 league games for Maritimo this season, scoring one goal. In all, Joel Tagueu has played 144 official matches for the Portuguese side, scoring 41 goals, and was the club’s top scorer last season, with nine goals scored.
