Jean Baptiste Bisseck has been confirmed as the deputy coach of Cameroon’s U-20 Women’s football team coach for the 2024 World Cup tournament to get underway this weekend in Colombia.
The FIFA final squad and trainer’s document published on Monday, August 26 confirmed the Indomitable Lionesses head coach will serve as deputy to Hassan Balla Abdoussalmi during the tournament which will mark Cameroon’s debut in this category of the FIFA world cup.
Bisseck’s addition to the technical crew that led Cameroon to the historic fear has been greeted with mixed feelings amongst stakeholders, especially as he didn’t help his reputation through his return of back-to-back elimination from the qualification for AWCON 2024 and the Paris Olympics games.
Though it will be his first time in the finals of any major competition, Bisseck, former lead trainer of Eding Sport de la Lekie, Leopard of Douala and winner of the MTN Elite One championship with Cotonsport of Garoua is expected to add value to the team staff even if they didn’t look lacking before his arrival.
Cameroon hightened their preparations for the World Cup on Monday with a resounding 4-2 win against Millonarios Fútbol Club of Bogota in their second warm up game in their adaptation camp in Colombia.
The team guided by coaches Hassan, Bisseck plus Chombong Collins and former Indomitable Lionesses goalkeeper Ngo Ndom Annette as trainers will open their World Cup campaign this Saturday against Mexico before games against hosts Colombia and Australia on September 3 and 6 respectively.
