Udinese Calcio and Nigerian defender, Kingsley Ehizibue has declared that he is eager to get a call up to defend the colours of the Nation in an international competition after choosing Nigeria over the Netherlands and Germany.
The 27-year-old had switch allegiance from the Netherlands to Nigeria before the start of the 2021 African cup of Nations qualifiers after representing the Dutch U21 side before making the decision to come back home.
He earned his first call up on March 3,2020 from coach Genot Rohr at the time for the qualifiers.
Kingsley’s debut with the super Eagles was delayed due to the postponement of Nigeria’s 2021 AFCON qualifiers against Sierra Leone.
“I have watched Nigeria play during the World Cup and it is my dream to dress in the country’s colours.
I am tired of staying back when they open the international window and only those who are summoned by their National teams can go,” Kingsley voiced out.
Born in the Netherlands and raised in Germany, the former FC Koln player has been a prolific right back for Udinese since joining the club this 2022/23 football season.
He counts 21 apps and two goals scored for the Italian side.
The defense man had a staggering display in Udinese’s 3-1win over AC Milan on Saturday. He scored in the second half to crown scores for the day.
That was their fourth consecutive game without a loss, which eventually took them to the eighth spot on the Serie A table.
