Isle of Hope Sports Academy (ISOHSA) of Limbe left the Bagangte Municipal stadium with a point this Tuesday, December 5 as Ikose Njuma Conrad scored from the penalty spot to deny the hosts a win on the return of the MTN Elite Two championship.

The entertaining afternoon at the dusty pitch could have produced more than two goals as both sides created a litterny of scoring opportunities but couldn’t get more than the two goals with former PWD of Bamenda midfielder Heka Ebongue being the only scorer for the hosts.

Heka scored the opener for coach Soh Simplice’s team after a minute of the game, taking advantage of poor defensive work from the ISOHSA backline that was napping in the opening moment.

Panthere’s first minute lead didn’t last as ISOHSA found the equalizer against the run of play thanks to former Victoria United FC and CUSA of Buea hitman, Njuma.

ISOHSA’s equalizer was from a penalty awarded by Referee Abdoul Razack after a goal-bound effort from Ghangle Rattensi was cleared with the hands by Panthere sweeper Echabe Stanley.

Njuma’s goal was his first since after the brace against Rangers of Bafut in match day four and took his season tally to three.

Panthere’s efforts to restore their lead was made more complicated when Kongyuy Jude was sent off with 22 minutes remaining.

The hosts hit the post in that time while ISOHSA could have scored the winner either but it wasn’t to be.

The game ended 1-1 thus leaving ISOHSA fourth on the log with 12 points while Panthere is a place and point below after eight round of matches.
