Heartland FC vs Niger Tornadoes Preview

Heartland FC will play their last topflight game before their fans and supporters at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri today against Niger Tornadoes in a Nigeria Premier Football League Matchday 37 tie.

After a tempestuous season filled with so many downs than ups, the Naze Millionaires were confirmed relegated on Wednesday after the 4-1 defeat to Remo Stars at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne. The result devastated players and officials of the club because the slogan before that game was to keep hope alive until the very end. The fans and supporters too were hard hit by the development.

Even though the club has been relegated efforts should be geared towards a quick return to the topflight just like it was previously when the club was in the same situation.

There are two games to be played before the end of the season starting with the home game with Tornadoes today and the trip to Ilorin to face Kwara United thereafter. What the club owe the fans and supporters at this time is to beat the Ikon Allah Boys no matter how difficult the fixture is today and also give a good account of themselves in Ilorin against the Harmony Boys.

After the end of the season, there is a need to take a stock of what happened in the regular season considering both the mistakes made and finding out what must be done to correct it.

The concerted efforts to bring back Heartland FC from the lower league next season should start immediately but first club head coach, Christian Obi, the General Manager, Promise Nwachukwu and others in the club must work in tandem to ensure the last two games are properly executed to ensure that the process towards the club’s renaissance has begun.

Heartland FC let slip a 2-1 lead at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna against Niger Tornadoes in the first leg before losing the fixture 3-2 and only the three maximum points would gladden the hearts of the Naze Millionaires who are presently bruised by the relegation of the club and a home win would provide the start of the healing effects and restitution towards a grandstand comeback next season.
