Cameroon Women’s league Lekie FC, opened the 2022_2023 season in scintillating fashion, following a 4_2 bashing of Eclair of Sa’a.

The season’s opener was held at the Ngoa Ekelle Stadium in Yaoundé on Saturday, in the present of FECAFOOT president Samuel Eto’o and other top football dignitaries in the country.

An ambitious Lekie FC, high spenders in the recent transfer window, made a statement win with two of the new signings scoring all four goals.

Goalkeeper Ogmahan Marthe, Farida Macha, Brenda Tabe, Raissa Nnanga, Mogai Cécile, Ngah Manga, Natacha Elam, and Brigette Moumazim, who all started the game were amongst the big signings completed by president Koa Luc.

Éclair pulled first blood when Eliane Bibout converted from the penalty spot to put the Sa’a side in front just after 10 minutes.

The reaction was quick and within a twinkle of an eye, the flood gates were let loose. 2022 Women’s world cup top scorer Brenda Tabe, who is making his comeback to Lekie, drew the game level at the 13 minute.

Quick fired goals from former Canon FF forward Raissa Nnanga then followed, as Lekie FC took a two goals lead to the break.

Éclair in search for solutions, brought in Marie Victoire Ngono and Angela Megueyap, and later on introduced pacy winger Ngo Boum Georgette and Amina Mefoujou.

Stéphane Ndzana’s increased tally through Brenda Tabe before the hour mark, but Éclair was again awarded another penalty, after Ngo Boum was fouled in Lekie’s 18 yards box. For the second time in the game, Eliane Bibout punished Ongmahan Marthe, to put the scores at 4#2.
