Cameroon women’s top flight side Canon Football Filles of Yaounde, has been declared general forfeiture after failing to feature in the first five playing days of the 2022-2023 Guinness super league campaign.
Since they reportedly showed up with two teams during their match day one game against Eding FF at the Yaounde Omnisport Annex stadium in January 15, nothing has not been heard of Canon FF, as the rest of the league’s fixtures go on hitch free.
The team has going through internal squabbles, as two factions have reportedly developed.
Now the Female Football League of Cameroon in a communiqué signed on February 02, 2023 by its Sidonie Tagne, indicates that Canon FF has been declared general forfeiture.
“In accordance with article 31 of the regulations of the Guinness Super League for the 2022/2023 Sporting season, Canon Sportif Filles has been declared general forfeiture,” the communiqué reads.
According to the regulations, Canon FF is supposed to be relegated to at least two inferior divisions. As of now, no official note has been issued in that regard.
The Guinness Super League enters match day six action this Wednesday.
