Guinness Super League: AS Awa and Authentic share spoils

Defending champions, AS Awa of Yaounde held Authentic FC to a zero all draw in matchday six of the 2022/23 Guiness Super league.

The game at the Reunification annex stadium Bepanda, failed to produce a goal for the huge Authentic supporters who came to cheer the ambitious club.

Authentic brought a huge percent of energy in the first segment of the game, but met a resilient and determined visiting side who gave them a hard time.

Tim Shalom gave Marie Claire kibinde a clear opportunity to put the host ahead via a fine cross but it was squandered by the latter right infront of goal.

AS Awa’s defense ability in the encounter is what helped the girls of Coach Hassan Balla earn a point.

Awa’s forward, Annie Enganemben was workaholic all afternoon. She orchestrated two smart goal scoring opportunities but fail to convert even on a one-on-one with goalkeeper Beatrice Allaisem.

All efforts from either side to score in the first segment proved futile, leading to a barren first half separation.

In the second half, the defending champions in turn mounted pressure on Authentic, yet it yielded no fruits as they missed a couple of clear chances.

Matchday five’s woman of Guinnessico, Chelsea Ngole, goalkeeper of AS Awa, undoubtedly came into this encounter with high spirit and a couple of saves from her greatly contributed to the zero all tie.

Awa Filles starting XI against Authentic

Recall that, AS Awa held Amazone Fap to a nil draw in their matchday five encounter in Yaounde and this Wednesday, they back home just a point. They have won one game and now drawn two.

Meanwhile, second placed Authentic beat Ngadeu FFA 3-0 in their previous game at home to go second on the classification table. They retain this position with now 14points.

Worthy of note most especially is the fact that, Authentic FC have now gone six games unbeaten and are yet to concede a goal this season.
