- Yannick Noah finally made his first appearance for St Gallen on Thursday after watching two consecutive from the bench
- He lasted 18 minutes in the 1-0 win for St Gallen, who secured passage to the next round of the UEFA Conference League
Former Colombe of Dja defender, Yannick Joachim Zacharie Noah Tankeu finally made his St Gallen debut on Thursday evening in the UEFA Conference League 1-0 win away to Tobol to complete a 5-0 aggregate triumph and progress to the next round of the competition.
Noah played the final 18 minutes of the tie and was booked as he made his baby steps for the club he joined less than a month ago from Colombe of Dja and Lobo.
The 20-year-old versatile Cameroonian defender came on for Nigerian descent English talent Chima Okoroji who was deployed as left-back from the start of the game.
Noah’s early involvement displayed the massive potentials in the former HO Academy, Dragon Yaoundé and Fauve Azur defender.
Now that the first impression in competition atmosphere has been created, the full-back who can play in multiple positions in the defense plus the midfield will have to convince coach Enrico Maassen, who endorsed his signing to give him more minutes and confidence.
The former Cameroon U-20 and current U-23 international will be hoping to enjoy his years at the club while the nation watches with hopes and expectations that he grows into a contributor towards the maintenance of the going concern of the Indomitable Lions brand.
St Gallen who beat Tobol to set up a tie against Polish side Slask Wroclaw will face FC Lausanne this weekend on match day three of the Swiss Super League hoping to capitalise on their high moment and maul them as they did to defending champions of last season, Young Boys Berne last weekend.
