Senegal’s early elimination from the 2022 FIFA World Cup could be on the brink of creating damaging consequences within the ranks of the team.<\/p>\n

Popular Senegalese outlet Le Record is reporting that Aliou Cisse who has been head coach of the men’s national team since 2015 is considering stepping down from the role barely weeks after renewing his commitment.<\/p>\n

According to the publication, Cisse who signed a new bumper deal in October with the obligation of making at least the quarter-final of the 2022 FIFA World Cup plus qualify and win the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cote D’Ivoire.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately the CAF Coach of the year 2022 who took over from Amara Traor\u00e9 in 2015 failed to attain the first objective, thus amounting to questions about his future.<\/p>\n

Cisse’s years at the helm of the Teranga Lions has brought some consistency and some remarkable returns to the nation, including reaching two AFCON finals, of which he won the 2021 edition in Cameroon and qualification for two FIFA World Cup tournaments.<\/p>\n

kick442.com understands the Senegal football federation still trust Cisse and his staff, though Cisee has other ideas.<\/p>\n

The Federation’s position about a manager who has won 53 of 83 games and recorded just 18 draws is logical and professional though crazier things have happened in football.<\/p>\n

The Teranga Lions will return to activity in March next year with a fixture against Mozambique in Maputo, during Matchday three of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.<\/p>\n
