The 2026 FIFA men\u2019s World Cup has been conducted this Thursday\u2019s in Abidjan-Cote D\u2019Ivoire and Cameroon has been placed in group D alongside long time rivals, Cape Verde, Libya, Angola, Eswantini and Mauritius.<\/p>\n
The Indomitable Lions have once again been paired against the Blue Sharks as it were in the last edition.<\/p>\n
Africa\u2019s 54 nations have been placed in nine groups of six teams each, with the continents big nine leading the groups.<\/p>\n
Egypt, Senegal, Nigeria, Cameroon, Morocco, Cote D\u2019Ivoire, Algeria, Tunisia and Mali are leaders of group A to I respectively.<\/p>\n
The nine groups will play on home and away basis round and the winners of each group automatically qualifies for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.<\/p>\n
The next four best after the winner from each group will then compete in a play-off stage to determine CAF\u2019s representative at the FIFA play-off tournament which will include one team each from all six confederations of FIFA.<\/p>\n
The qualification matches will kickoff from November 13-21, 2023, 3 to 11 June 2024, 17 to 25th March 2025, 1 to 9 September 2025, 6 to 14 October 2025 and 10 to 18 November 2025.<\/p>\n
In all, there would be ten match days for this qualification round to pick up a ticket to the 23rd edition of the quadrennial International men\u2019s football tournament.<\/p>\n
