Cameroon and Chad have pulled out from the maiden edition of the Union for Central Africa Football Federation (UNIFFAC) U20 Fatshi Cup tournament that starts this Saturday, leaving four nations in contention.<\/p>\n

The Cameroon U20 selection which was expected in the DR Congo on Thursday, June 29 unfortunately wrote to the organizers on Tuesday to inform them of its decision to back out of the event.<\/p>\n

Cameroon’s decision to quit the competition is resources related and comes hours after Chad took a similar decision due to an undisclosed reason.<\/p>\n

The decision to pull out means Cameroon and Chad join Equatorial Guinea plus Sao Tome and Principe as the Central African nations to miss the competition.<\/p>\n

The UNIFFAC U20 competition will resume on Saturday, in Kinshasa after over two years without the competition.<\/p>\n

Gabon, DR Congo and Central Africa Republic will be pooled together. All four national teams will play each other and the team with the highest number of points will be declared champions.<\/p>\n

The last edition of the competition took place in December 2020 in Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon defeated Congo to emerge winners.<\/p>\n
