The court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) has turned down Cameroon\u2019s appeal to deliver a quick verdict about Cameroon’s appeal against a CAF decision to reinstate Gabon back into the 2023 U23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after initial suspension.<\/p>\n
TAS release the decision this Tuesday stating they can’t make a quick review of the case. This almost puts an end to all appeal procedures, hence confirming the qualification of Gabon for the tournament as obtained on the pitch.<\/p>\n
Gabon had been disqualified by the CAF disciplinary committee due to error made in registration of Floriss Djave.<\/p>\n
The team was guilty of mistakenly swapping the birth date of one Floriss Djave when registering him for the competition.<\/p>\n
However, the CAF had reinstated Gabon in the U23 AFCON after overturning an earlier decision to disqualify them.<\/p>\n
