A three-man delegation from the French handball federation (FHF) has concluded a four-day working visit to Cameroon aimed at evaluating the development of the sport within the framework of a possible collaboration.<\/p>\n
This partnership, which will take effect in September, will see the FHF provide sporting gear to their Cameroon peers, share ample experience on digital techniques to boost this discipline, and provide data storage, amongst others.<\/p>\n
Nina Kamto Njitam, an ex-French handball player of Cameroonian decent; Asya Mokeddem, international missions manager of the French handball federation; and Gilles Malfondet, expert at the International Handball Federation, presented this project to Abba Oumate, president of the Cameroon handball federation (FECAHAND), who facilitated a meeting with the Minister of Sports Professor Narcisse Mouele and the president of the national Olympics committee Hamad Kalkaba Malboum.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe were more than satisfied with the exchanges with the Minister of Sports of Cameroon. It was an honor and a privilege to be received by the Minister. But above all, we can confront the different visions.<\/p>\n
“The information that is carried by the minister gives us a course to follow and especially to define the contours of our collaboration with FECAHAND,” explains Giles Malfondet.<\/p>\n
It is also considered an avenue to share ideas with the entire staff of the Cameroon handball federation, most especially trainers.<\/p>\n
Despite representing France in an international tournament, Nina Kamto Njitam, the facilitator of this event, hopes to help the younger generation of Cameroonians.<\/p>\n
“It is a project close to my heart; I was born in Cameroon.Though I represented France, my heart stays at home. I am happy to be part of this, bringing to Cameroonian youth the knowledge I acquired in my years of playing for France in terms of structure, amongst others. Today the challenge is to develop handball.”

Worthy of note is,\u00a0 this partnership will also includes a volleyball and football development, as the project itself is called HAVOBA, meaning handball, volleyball, and basketball.<\/p>\n
Cameroon is not the only country collaborating with France; five other countries have been selected for the partnerships.
