Indomitable Lion of Cameroon\u2019s head coach, Rigobert Song Bahanag has made public his 22 man squad summoned for the International friendlies against Mexico this later this month.<\/p>\n
Made known this Thursday during a press conference in the country\u2019s capital city Yaound\u00e9, Song unveiled a list which has definitely come with lots of surprises as previewed.<\/p>\n
2017 African cup of Nations (AFCON) hero, Fabrice Ondoa is back in the lions Den to join Devis Epassy and Gazelle FA of Garoua\u2019s Mbahbi Marcelin at goal.<\/p>\n
Ondoa returns after being ghosted for a while, missing out on the 2021 AFCON at home, 2022 FIFA World Cup and 2023 AFCON qualifier games.<\/p>\n
Hopes had been raised for the return of Andre Onana who retired from International football after falling out with Song Bahanag last December but he absent from the list. It is uncertain if he was left out giving that the date of the friendly against Mexico coincides with the final of the UEFA Champions league.(June 10)<\/p>\n
Asides captain Vincent Aboubakar who asked to be excused from the team due to personal reasons, Bayern Munich\u2019s goal poarcher, Eric Maxim Choupo Moting and defense man Jean Charles Castelleto are no where to be found on the list.<\/p>\n
Equally, Zambo Anguissa didn\u2019t earn a call. Once again, Jean Pierre Nsame who is highest goal scorer in Swiss for the third consecutive season now, has been ignored.<\/p>\n
He last earned a call during the 2022 FIFA World Cup but was not used in any game and then he was left out of the AFCON qualifiers squad despite being the highest goal scorer in Swiss at the time.<\/p>\n
Since Jerome Ngom Bekeli seduced Cameroon football lovers during the FIFA World Cup in particular via his assist to Vincent Aboubakar against Brazil, he has assured his place at the attack line for Song.<\/p>\n
Cameroon will face Mexico in San Diego, USA on June 10.<\/p>\n
