The Centre de Formation Sport-Etudes ZO’O (CFZOO), run by Dr. ZO’O Martin Roger, is a small-scale football academy in Cameroon with the ambition of developing youth football. Located in the locality of Metyikpwale, 4 km from the centre of Ebolowa, in the South region, the CFZOO which will open its doors next September to boarders from different regions of the country but especially the South, is organizing on Saturday, May 27, 2023, Open Days (JPO), from 9 am to 17 pm.<\/p>\n
Placed under the theme: *CFZOO, An ambitious project at the service of football*, the JPO will be the occasional opportunity to discover the space that will host the young footballers, to exchange and share more information about the CFZOO. According to the promoter and owner Dr ZO’O Martin Roger, “the CFZOO is a place designed for the blossoming and development of young people. Saturday 27 May will be an opportunity to discover the quality infrastructure and equipment of the Centre: 2 natural grass pitches with a 100-seat covered stand and changing rooms, a weight room, a 46-seat dormitory, a 50-seat dining hall, etc.
\nIn addition, the CFZOO aims to be a framework allowing each young person to grow as a footballer but also as a man. It aims to provide them with something in their daily lives, particularly in the academic field. It therefore relies on the sports and educational aspects to train its residents, with a particular emphasis on academic follow-up. Dr. ZO’O Martin Roger says on this subject: “Through educational supervision, the CFZOO offers young footballers and sportsmen the opportunity to learn and practise sports-related professions, via quality infrastructures and equipment. We have opted for the schooling of our trainees in partner institutions in the city of Ebolowa, to give them the best possible chance of success academically,” said the promoter.<\/p>\n
As for the different offers, the ZO’O Sport-Study Training Centre has three: “Full board where the children are taken care of and live at the Centre during the school period; half board for children living with their families who will participate in the Centre’s activities (training sessions, matches, etc). Their transport and meals are also taken care of during their activities at the Centre. The third offer is the football school, which concerns children under 12 years of age who are in the process of learning to play football”, says Dr ZO’O.<\/p>\n
The Technical Director of the Centre, Anatole ABEE also said that on the sports front: “two groups will be formed at the CFZOO, the 14-15 years old and the 16-17 years old. Training camps, tournaments and courses will be organised during their apprenticeship. Those aged 12-13 will benefit from a basic football learning programme and will participate in training camps during the school holidays. They will be evaluated at the end of the modules through tests and tournaments. Eventually, our players should be able to join the competitive ranks of amateur and professional clubs.<\/p>\n
For the time being, the men’s and women’s teams of FC Ebolowa are considered as partners of the ZOO Sport-Etudes Training Centre. With the men’s section playing in the Southern Regional League and the women’s section in the Guinness Super League, the ZOOFC already has a reliable partner as professional clubs where its boarders could sharpen their weapons and demonstrate their playing identity.<\/p>\n
