Celebrated Cameroonian Referee Atezambong Carine Fomo has been appointed Video Assistant Referee(VAR) for the nail-biting 2023 U17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) quarter-final game pitting Morocco against hosts Algeria this Wednesday night at the The Mohamed Hamlaoui stadium in Constantine.<\/p>\n
The experienced Cameroonian is part of the cream of officials retained by the Confederation of African (CAF) to oversee the edgy contest.<\/p>\n
It will be Atezambong’s third game in her first U17 AFCON tournament, but the first in which she is assigned to operate in the VAR room. She was assistant<\/p>\n
The woman who became the first female Cameroonian to play as a VAR during the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) last August in Morocco will bring a lot of experience to the crew.<\/p>\n
