Leonel Ateba Mbida Christian says he is satisfied with his mates for the efforts they made to ensure that PWD social Club of Bamenda survived the dramatic MTN Elite One relegation fight which lasted till the last minute of the last game of the season.<\/p>\n

The former Cotonsport forward scored the opening goal in the thrilling 3-2 win against Renaissance of Ngoumou which ensured that the Abakwa Boys be part of the Cameroon top-flight championship next season and now reveals saving PWD is one of the goals he achieved in his career so far.<\/p>\n

“In life we always aim high but sometimes we just want to achieve the minimum. This is exactly what transpired this season at PWD. When I first came, many other new players also joined the club. The excitement in the group was real and we had some big characters. Unfortunately, we didn’t start well. So at some point in time it was only about saving the club from relegation and we did that. I am satisfied,” Ateba narrated.<\/p>\n

The Abakwa Boys started the season as one of Cameroon’s representatives in the CAF Confederation Cup but fell short against Malagasy side Elgeco Plus during the first-round preliminary. That defeat caused a foul start in the Elite One championship leading to two changes in their head coach across the season.<\/p>\n

The arrival of Roger Constantine Bep and Ateba’s form turn things around for the Abakwa Boys. The 24-year-old finished the season with seven goals and four assists in 18 games for the Northwest outfit.<\/p>\n

The 2020 Champions however finished the season with 25 points and on the 4th spot in Pool A behind Canon Yaound\u00e9, Coton sport and UMS of Loum.<\/p>\n

PWD must build on the foundation of this season plus take the lessons to ensure that they comeback stronger next season.<\/p>\n
