Thursday, April 19 – Cameroon’s minister of Sports of Physical Education Professor Narcisse Mouelle Kombi has made the first move in an attempt to secure the return of Andre Onana Onana to the Indomitable Lions den.<\/p>\n
kick442.com has stumbled on a confidential letter sent to Inter Milan by the sports authority, asking the club president Corso Vitorie Emmanuele, to cause Onana to make a U-turn on his decision to quit international football.<\/p>\n
The 27-year-old ended his time in the Cameroon last November after a braul sparked between him and the staff of the national team after one game at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.<\/p>\n
Onana featured in Cameroon’s 0-1 defeat against Switzerland but missed the rest of the tournament after he was suspended from the team’s activities due to what was qualified indiscipline and through a letter signed by the interim Secretary General of the Cameroon football federation (FECAFOOT).<\/p>\n
The keeper followed the FECAFOOT decision with a decision of his own announcing retirement from the national team.<\/p>\n
Now, minister Kombi wants his decision to be overturned.<\/p>\n

The Nkol-Ngok native made his debut for Cameroon in September 2016 and has gone on to win 34 caps through two Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournaments.<\/p>\n
Onana, One-time Ajax Amsterdam and Barcelona B goalkeeper has been on fine-form for Inter Milan this season.<\/p>\n
The keeper exploits between the sticks has helped the club reach the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League as one of the most-performant players for the 2010 treble winners this season.<\/p>\n
Cameroon hasn’t been assuring in the goalkeeping aspect of the game thus making many to clamor for his comeback.<\/p>\n
