Isle of Hope Sports Academy (ISOHSA) lead trainer says players must use their frustration of draw with Prisons to bounce back against Options Sports Academy.<\/p>\n
Nlend Aime has challenged his ISOHSA players to use their dramatic 1-1 draw away to Prisons last weekend in Buea as a warning to guard against complacency from this Sunday against Options Sports.<\/p>\n
Coach Nlend’s side saw their three-match winning run in the Southwest Regional League come to a stunning end at the Molyko Omnisport stadium last Saturday.<\/p>\n
The leaders led deep in the first-half through Nlend Afafa, but the advantage was blown away late in the second segment after Prisons’ skipper Mbole won a penalty that was converted against Ashu Kelvin in goal for the visitors.<\/p>\n
Although the guys from Limbe rallied and came close to restoring the lead, it wasn’t to be. Coach Nlend has no complaints about his side’s first league draw of the season and his tenure, but wants more henceforth.<\/p>\n
“It’s so difficult to maintain this run, especially against good teams like Prisons, Mount Cameroon, Treviso and Fako United so far,” Nlend told kick442.com.<\/p>\n
“It’s never good news to drop points, but when you do it’s important not to do so again.<\/p>\n
“We have a young team and maybe it can be good for the future.<\/p>\n
“Football is an unpredictable game. What happened last weekend is in the past. We have to show a reaction against Options who are also a good side.”<\/p>\n
ISOHSA squandered tons of chances against Prisons and were made to pay.
\nNlend admits his team had lost their composure in the second half after being rattled by Prisons’ relentless pressing, but they need to accept to suffer in games.<\/p>\n
“We lost a lot of balls. Like Prisons, Options are so aggressive without the ball and we had a little bit of a problem to control that,” he said.<\/p>\n
“We started the second half well until the goal from the penalty. After that, we lost our control and we became passive, but we know what to do on Sunday and beyond.”<\/p>\n
Although ISOHSA’s lead at the top has been cut to three points as Mount Cameroon FC breathe down their neck going into match day five against Options who can climb as high as second with a win.<\/p>\n
This Limbe derby at 4PM at the Limbe Centenary stadium is certainly an early season decider for coach Nlend and his players.<\/p>\n
