Former Cameroon international, Jean-Jo\u00ebl Perrier-Doumb\u00e9 has made a rare public appearance on Thursday, April 6 in Douala, Cameroon.<\/p>\n
The former Indomitable Lions full-back was one of the attractions at the Anne Kadji Art Gallery when the media met the organizers of the second edition of the ‘United Cup’ to discuss their plans for the annual event which started in 2022.<\/p>\n
Perrier-Doumb\u00e9, who won 19 caps for Cameroon between 2003-2006 appeared at the event in the capacity of a scout as he hopes to identify talents and facilitate a move to Europe at the right moment.<\/p>\n
The 44-year-old former Stade Rennes, Auxerre and Toulouse FC defender has been based in France since his retirement from the game around a decade ago and works as a scout for some top clubs these days.<\/p>\n
The Parisian rarely makes public outings but the importance of the United Cup has given his fans the chance to meet him when the United Cup starts this Friday.<\/p>\n
The latest edition of the competition for some of the best U-17 talents and academies in the country will begin this Friday and run to Sunday April 9, at the Kadji Sports Academy.<\/p>\n
The organizers have listed Kadji Sports Academy (KSA), Union Sportive of Douala, Options Sports of Limbe, ANAFOOT, Victoria City, Wouri Academy, Donlap Academy and Fondation Tafi as participants.<\/p>\n
Scouts from Orlando Pirates, Orleans FC, Southampton, AJ Auxerre, Le Havre AC, Goztepe, Zulte Waregem will attend the tournament.<\/p>\n
The event gets underway this Friday morning with some mouthwatering fixtures at the Kadji Sports Academy.<\/p>\n
