Legendary Cameroonian and Nigerian shot stoppers, Joseph Antoine Bell and Peter Ruffai have reunited after over 35-years of their last meeting.<\/p>\n
The signing of convention between Southwest Ex Footballers Association(SWEFA) and Association of Banana plantainsy in Cameroon known by itself French acronym FBPC, brought these two legends together.<\/p>\n
Peter Rufai\u2019s coming to Cameroon for the historic show, definitely spark nostalgia between the prolific keepers who defended the colours of their nations many years ago.<\/p>\n
These two top African goalkeepers were rivals during the 1984 African cup of Nations in Abidjan, Ivory Coast where Cameroon clinched the trophy that year over Nigeria.<\/p>\n
Joseph Antoine Bell,68, was between the sticks for Cameroon from the second group stage game since Thomas Nkono was first choice keeper at the time. Meanwhile, Peter only managed to play the group stages to the semi final, eventually qualifying Nigeria for the final he missed out on after being kept aside for Patrick Okala.<\/p>\n
During the 1988 AFCON in Morocco, Bell and Peter met once again during the final of the competition after their group stage qualifications in pool B, and Cameroon went on to win the trophy again against the Super Eagles of Nigeria 1#0.<\/p>\n
The three time World Cup participant and head of Sporting infrastructures in Cameroon, took to his Facebook handle to welcome the \u2018August\u2019 guest.<\/p>\n

According to a close source who told Kick442.com, Rufai was Bell\u2019s surprise package to Cameroon upon invitation for the signing of the convention to organize a gala match between the Former Super Eagles and Indomitable Lion\u2019s legends during the Banana plantains Festival in November 2023.<\/p>\n
Bell and Peter have been invited to witness the signing of the convention between SWEFA and FBPC on Thursday and Friday in Buea, Southwest Region of Cameroon.<\/p>\n
The 59-year-old 1994 AFCON gold medalist, spent 20 years of his career plying his trade in Belgium, Spain, Portugal and the Netherlands. He represented Nigeria at the 1994 and 1998 FIFA World Cups and several AFCON tournaments as first choice keeper.<\/p>\n
